Global Experience

We work with students from all around the world & as far as Russia, Kazakhstan and Dubai as well children in Europe. We understand the support that is needed for parents and their children coming to live or study away from home and the difficulties that a child from a foreign country encounters in adjusting to an English curriculum. Our teachers are very experienced and aware of the differences in the educational systems: For example, certain subjects such as Geometry are taught differently in Russia.

Top Grades

We offer support at all levels from age 5 to university level & for Common Entrance, entrance to top British schools. When it comes to examinations and university entrance, we have all the experience needed to help your child succeed.

We recommend a minimum of 90 minutes once a week and we can offer more intensive or everyday tuition options as necessary. Online tuition is available on request.

Why Us?

Hi, I'm Laurie

I lecture twice a week at a prestigious London university which allows me to stay up to date with the world of education. My team consists of teachers I have worked with during the whole of my career and I have chosen to work with them because they are mature and extensively experienced. They have the intuition and flair to guide children and bring out the best in them. More importantly, they adhere to my motto, which is to provide excellence in teaching.

What to expect section

The lessons are online or face to face. The first class consists of an assessment to determine the student’s strengths and weaknesses. This allows me and my team to plan a course of study with relevant material, working in parallel with the school, if relevant.

Why are we different?

A teacher may well be highly qualified but lack the pedagogical attributes required for teaching pupils and students. We, at Hillgate Tutors, know our subject so well that we will find creative ways to teach the same topic in different ways.

Communication with parents is paramount. This enables us to focus on what works and what does not. We provide a monthly report to the parents which shows what has been covered during the month, materials used, and topics and recommendations from the tutor.

When is the best time to start?

At every level, earlier is better. It can be very stressful for a student to try and catch up 2 months before an exam. We recommend starting at the beginning of the academic year to allow plenty of time to build on knowledge and confidence.

How does pricing work?

We charge an hourly rate. An invoice will be sent at the end of each month. Very easy.
